This is about cocaine and music and how they blend. Sometimes the lyric is literal sometimes its metaphoric. Music doesnt make your lips numb coke does, and no singer puts the nose on the speaker. Going up on a downtown line can mean getting high in a line of cocaine downtown or going up in the radio charts. So i think its about how music and cocaine are sometimes the same reality
